Our 16th century holiday cottages in a unique setting provide a stunning base for exploring the gorgeous Lake District and West Cumbrian beaches. With Gardener’s Cottage and The Hayloft having 4-star gold and Gamekeeper’s Cottage having 5-star gold ratings from Visit England, our luxury holiday cottages have everything you could need for a relaxing stay. On the fringes of the Lake District National Park, 14 miles from Keswick, 5 miles from the West Cumbrian beaches, and just 3 miles from the market town of Cockermouth, we are perfectly located for your home away from home.

Our Cottages
Luxury Holiday Cottages with every modern convenience to enhance your stay with us.
Luxury toiletries by Duck Island are provided and bathrobes are available on request, your choice of microfibre or feather pillows are available to maximise your comfort.
The large garden and terrace have fire pits, and seating to help you to relax in peaceful surroundings.
Gamekeeper’s Cottage welcomes dogs by prior arrangement, and we now offer a fenced dog play area for some off lead play times.
Our new first floor flat is The Hayloft, which welcomes dogs by prior arrangement, has an enclosed garden, and access to the dog paddock.
Gardener’s Cottage welcomes 2 small dogs (up to Cocker Spaniel sized) by prior arrangement.
We have a warm dog shower for those dogs who can’t resist the muddy puddles, and provide towels to dry off.
Spare dog beds, crates, feed bowls, and furniture throws are all available too
Book direct to explore our 11.5 acres of garden and woodland.
Over 2 acres of lawns and a range of specimen trees in the woodland areas; a summer house with seating to watch the sunset over the Solway Firth; a croquet lawn; perfect spots for picnics, or drinks after a busy day exploring West Cumbria and the Lakes.
Outside games are available on request if you are feeling competitive or still have energy to burn.
We have a fenced dog paddock, with a picnic bench for you to sit and chill while your furry friends run off their energy in safety.
